Mayor Rusty Bailey, City of Riverside
Since graduating from West Point with a degree in political science in 1994, Rusty has worked in a variety of public service positions and has earned a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from UCLA.
Among his many accomplishments, Rusty has served as a helicopter pilot, Platoon Leader and Company Executive Officer in the U.S. Army, and has served as a Legislative Aide for County Supervisor John F. Tavaglione. In addition, Rusty has worked for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and the Executive Office of the President as a Presidential Management Fellow, as well as for the Riverside County Economic Development Agency. Mayor Bailey enjoys time with his two daughters, Elizabeth and Julia and his wife, Judy.
City Manager Scott Barber, City of Riverside
Scott Barber was selected as City Manager by the Mayor and City Council effective December 6, 2011, to oversee the municipal affairs of the City. Scott has been the City’s Director of Community Development for the past six years and has almost twenty-five years of municipal government experience.
Scott has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Riverside, and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, from California Baptist University.
Business Co-Chair | Cindy Roth, Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce
Cindy Roth is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce. Roth oversees a budget of $1.4 million and 14 employees. She graduated from the United States Chamber of Commerce Institute for Organization Management at Stanford University in 1990. Roth became the president of the Chamber in 1999, the first woman to lead the organization. Since then, Roth’s career has expanded over 30 years at the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce.
In her role as President/CEO, she is involved with strengthening the local economy. Serving as a leader on the Seizing our Destiny 2.0 initiative she contributes to the decision making process that creates a better quality of life for the community which helps attract new businesses and create more jobs.
Education Co-Chair | Dr. Rick Miller, Riverside Unified School District
Dr. Rick Miller joined Riverside Unified School District as Superintendent in January of 2009. Dr. Miller has been an educator for over 40 years. He has served as a school district superintendent for the past 23 years in two different states, as well as serving as an adjunct instructor at the university level in both states.
Dr. Miller has taught at the elementary and secondary levels and has been an elementary and high school principal. The focus of his 35+ year career as a school administrator has been on school reform and improved student achievement in diverse settings. See More…
Community Co-Chair | Damien O’Farrell, Path of Life Ministries/Pick Group
Damien O’Farrell serves as the Vice President of Operations for Path of Life Ministries, and as the Director of Community Development with Today’s Urban Renewal Network (TURN).
Along side his roles with these two organizations Damien is a certified Facilitator and Strategic Planner with the Institute of Cultural Affairs, serves as a Past President and current Treasurer of The Pick Group: Young Professionals of Riverside; President of The Relational Tithe, the chair of the Guiding Coalition of Community Action Partnership of Riverside County’s Project BLISS, as a member on the Greater Riverside Chamber of Commerce’s Economic Development Council, a member the Housing Sub-Committee for the County of Riverside’s Continuum of Care, and recently as a member of the City’s Charter Review Committee.
As a graduate from local California Baptist University, Damien has facilitated local and national faith-based and community development work for the past 12 years and was a member of the original planning team for “Seizing Our Destiny.”
